Types of Dentures
- Full dentures replace all the teeth in the upper or lower jaw and rest on the gums.
- Partial dentures fill the gaps between your remaining teeth. They can be made in acrylic, with a slim cast-metal frame, or in a flexible material, and each has trade-offs in comfort, strength and cost.
- Immediate dentures are made before teeth are removed and fitted the same day, so you are never without teeth. They usually need a reline once the gums have healed.
At your consultation we look at your gums, bite and remaining teeth, and recommend the type that will be most comfortable and secure for you.
What to Expect
- Consultation. Examination, discussion of options and a written quote.
- Impressions and bite. Moulds of your mouth and a record of how your jaws meet.
- Try-in. You see the teeth set in wax, so shape and colour can be adjusted before anything is finished.
- Fitting and adjustments. New dentures always need small adjustments in the first few weeks, and these are part of the process.
Vouchers, DVA and Health Funds for Dentures
Many denture patients in Liverpool use an NSW Oral Health Fee for Service denture voucher or a DVA Gold or White card, and we accept both. Health funds with major dental cover usually pay a rebate for dentures, claimed on the spot through HICAPS.

How do I clean my dentures?
Brush your dentures daily with a soft brush and a non-abrasive denture cleaner, soak them overnight in water or denture solution, and rinse after meals. Avoid hot water which can warp the material.
How long does it take to make custom dentures?
Most custom dentures take 3–4 appointments over a few weeks — including consultation, impressions, fitting, and adjustments. We will give you a clear timeline at your first visit.
